I started this site in 2005 after our son, Wyatt, was born with a cleft palate. Over the years the posts became less about Wyatt's condition and more about every day life. Seven years later, its a place to chronicle my journey as an Army Wife and a working mother of two children struggling to find balance in life.

I Changed My Flat Tire
On the way from Denver to Colorado Springs I had a blow out. At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but then I calmly got out of the car and looked in the trunk. I found the spare, the jack, and a can of fix-a-flat. So I tried the can of fix-a-flat and it didn't work because the hole was too big. So I jacked up the car, unscrewed the flat and put on the spare tire. Half way through, a highway patrol car pulled up and the guy offered to help. I told him he could oversee what I was doing, but that I wanted to doit myself so that I knew what to do. It was easy! I have no idea why people, especially women, have a hard time changing a tire. Wyatt had bottles that were more difficult to put together than that!
