I started this site in 2005 after our son, Wyatt, was born with a cleft palate. Over the years the posts became less about Wyatt's condition and more about every day life. Seven years later, its a place to chronicle my journey as an Army Wife and a working mother of two children struggling to find balance in life.

Tae Kwon Do
The Finger
We Camped At Lake Milford
We went camping with Eric's new troop at Lake Milford. Wyatt was really excited to fish and camp. I bought Wyatt his own Spiderman fishing rod and Eric ending up catching 3 fish with it - all fairly small bait fish BUT more than what I caught which was NOTHING. We roasted marshmallows and had a blast.

Arrrggghhhh!
Sorry its been so long in between posts! I've lost my camera and need to buy a new one. Its been a crazy trying to get settled in here.
First impressions of Kansas. Its a quaint little town in the middle of nowhere. Summer has been fun for lots of BBQs and playground visits etc. It took a lot of work to unpack without Eric here. Then when he got home there was a lot of Army paperwork etc to take care of and the garage. We still have a few projects left to be be done, but all in all the house is finished.
Eric had been going to work and signing in and then going to the gym and coming home at 11:30am everyday. So he's been helping me out with a lot of loose ends I haven't had time to deal with - ie. getting my car registered and just generally helping out a lot around the house.
I think I had been "on the go" for so long that I finally collapsed a couple weeks ago. No energy, no motivation, just tired and lazy. I've just been really overwhelmed.
We still have a lot to figure out as far as me working and Wyatt going to preschool and how and when we will exersize etc. We're managing to put away 15% of Eric's paycheck for retirement but its leaves us really tight. We did get him signed up for karate twice a week. I will be posting pictures of that soon. I am buying a camera this week!

8 Days Until The Packers Come
Well we've closed on the house - Yay!
The packers come next Wed and Thur (Wyatt and I are staying with Jeanette and Andrew for those nights) and the movers come next Friday.
I have the carpet cleaners coming next Sat and then I get to go to a wonderful wedding! We are staying at the hotel that has been booked for the wedding Fri, Sat and Sun. Jeanette and Andrew are looking after Wyatt for me from Sat afternoon until Sunday afternoon. I am going to celebrate my friend's marraige AND having an empty house!
Some friends, that have already moved to KS, will be back in town for the wedding and I will "caravan" with them back to KS on Monday June 29th. We'll be staying at their house until we can get into our new place and the movers deliver our things. I am hoping I will be unpacking by July 3rd and getting settled in.
So for now I've been cancelling utilities, washing comforters and curtains, patching walls, picking up medical records, sorting through our filing cabinet - all that kind of good stuff. Every day seems to fly by! I'm not stressed, just busy and ready to get settled into our new home and have Eric join us again.
Eric finishes school in Alabama July 15th. He'll come home for a couple weeks and then go to more training for the month of August. So it doesn't seem like we will be getting into any type of normal routine until September! BLAH!
I am staying positive and being grateful that things are running smoothly.

Wyatt's Sleep Study

Wyatt's sleep study - he had 15 wires on his head 1 on each big toe, 2 on each legs and 2 on his chest (23 wires) plus 2 monitors wrapped around his chest, an oxygen tube taped to his face and a sensor taped under his nose.
We drove to Denver and got there in time to have some dinner at the hospital cafeteria and then checked into the sleep clinic at 7:15pm. It took about 1 hour to get setled in and get all teh wires onto Wyatt. He fell asleep while the tech was wiring him up! She had put a movie on for him to watch and I guess he was nice a relaxed. She put on the oxygen and nose sensor after he fell asleep, which was awesome because he would have been pretty ticked off! Around 11pm he woke up screaming and tore off the oxygen and nose sensor. I ended up sleeping in the bed with him so that I could stop him from tearing off the tape. His cheeks were red for a few days where the skin was raw from the tape. I was so tired the next day that had to pull over half way home to take a rest. I couldn't keep my eyes open. We find out the results of the study in a couple weeks.

Whew
The buyer for the house finally got his orders and has submitted all paperwork needed for his bank to process his loan and give us a closing timeline. I've been stressing about his orders not coming through and then there being issues with closing on the house so I am relieved.
What's on my plate for this week:
Finish cleaning out the garage.
Move garage sale stuff into the garage for this Saturday.
A Mother's Day cake order and a 16th birthday 3-D cake order for Tuesday.
Order our mortgage pay off statements - yay!
Got to the gym and start running again.
I have to call about taking Cleo into the vet. She is really sick. I called last week and the vet wasn't available and then returned my call when I couldn't deal with it. So...big sigh...I need to take care of that this week. Its going to be a one way visit. :-(
