Its Amazing!

We asked the Dr if we could get Wyatt's feeding tube replaced on Monday so that we could see how he'd do without the night time feedings (we also wanted to get pictures taken without it!) She said that would be o.k. and scheduled us for the procedure on Monday a.m.

Friday: Wyatt took 6 x 3oz bottles - he's never eaten 3oz on every bottle. But 18oz for the day is still not enough (pediatrician wants him to eat 24oz).

Saturday - Wyatt ate 2 x 4oz bottles and the rest 3oz! OMG

Sunday - Wyatt ate 3 x 4ox bottles! His grand total was 22oz for the day. Eric and I talked and decided not to take him in this morning to get another feeding tube placed and to see where Wyatt's new appetite takes us.

The nutritionist gave us a recipe to increase the calories of my breast milk to 27calories per ounce so that if he takes a few days to get to 24oz he'll still be meeting his nutritional needs. Wyatt's pediatrician said we need to come in for a weight check this Thursday and then come back in two weeks to see if he's gaining o.k. I am so nervous and so pleased at the same time. Hopefully he tolerates the extra formula in his bottles! Wish us luck! This may be the end of the feeding tube!
