Running / Weight Loss

I've been running 5k (3.1 miles) 3 days per week for a month and I eating well. I've lost...5 pounds - that's it. I eat 1000 calories a day. I know, I know! 5 pounds is good, but I was hoping for 8lbs. You know where that would have gotten me don't you? In the freakin 120s! So frustrating! Plus! I've been 132 for 2 weeks now. I got down to 130/131 for a day and then I gained a pound for no reason and...well SHIT!

I'll keep trying of course. But I really wanted to be in the 120's by the time Eric got home. Who knows... maybe I'll drop 3lbs in the next week and half.

On a more positive note. I ran 5k in 34min 30 secs. That's a 4 minute improvement. I ran 2.5 miles and walked .5 a mile. I was so proud of myself!

14 Days Until Eric Comes Home For R-N-R!

I can't wait! He'll be home for 18 days and then when he goes back we will have 4.5 months left of deployment. Its strange to think of 4.5 months as a short time period. I think that the pending move to Ft. Riley makes me want the time to go slower. Apparantly, we will be relocated by June 30th. We don't have orders yet, so anything can happen, but that's what I am prepping myself for.

So now we have to figure out what to do with the house in this crappy market and where we want to live in KS - on post - off post etc. It seems that the houses for rent in Ft. Riley are MORE expensive than here! I worry about finding a home that will make us happy. We will probably be there for a while, so I want to make sure we have enough room PLUS we're planning to have another baby. I guess if we have a boy he can share with Wyatt...I guess a girl could too??? All I DO KNOW is that all the "unknowns" stress me out. I wish we didn't have to do the move so soon after the guys got home. Also, a squadron move to Ft. Riley will mean that some of our friends may not be coming with us. Some will be getting out of the Army and some will be putting in to transfer to a different post. I am not looking forward to this move.

Wyatt's Growth Hormone Shots

Wyatt has been taking his shots for 2 months now and the results have been amazing. In October, he was in the 5th percentile for hieght and weight, then in March he was off the curve. Yesterday, he was in the 60th percentile for weight and 20th percentile for height. Sooo...that's amazing! Crazy! I love it!

I Changed My Flat Tire

On the way from Denver to Colorado Springs I had a blow out. At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but then I calmly got out of the car and looked in the trunk. I found the spare, the jack, and a can of fix-a-flat. So I tried the can of fix-a-flat and it didn't work because the hole was too big. So I jacked up the car, unscrewed the flat and put on the spare tire. Half way through, a highway patrol car pulled up and the guy offered to help. I told him he could oversee what I was doing, but that I wanted to doit myself so that I knew what to do. It was easy! I have no idea why people, especially women, have a hard time changing a tire. Wyatt had bottles that were more difficult to put together than that!

Wyatt Is Signing Up For Pre-School

OH MY GOD! I was shocked yesterday when the lady called to tell me it was time to get the paperwork filled out for Wyatt to go to pre-school. He also has to do some evaluations with the therapists to see if he will qualify for speech therapy at school. I was thinking he would start in Jan 09, but the lady said he'd start on his birthday - October 15th! Ummm...that's only 4 months away! Its funny that 4 months seems too close as far as Wyatt going to school, but when I'm talking about Eric being deployed it seems like a lifetime away.

Eric and I are discussing spending our Government Stimulus check on going Las Vegas while he is on R and R. We'll see if the good deals are still available once he gets an actual date to come home. We are crossing our fingers for July 10th.

Sex And The City

I saw Sex And The City yesterday and I LOVED it! It was so nice to see a movie about women in their late 30s and 40s. They were beautiful, their relationships were flawed and their friendship with each other was powerful. It brought tears to my eyes on several occasions. I could idnetify with so much of the the story - except for the A List / fashion diva lifestyle LOL! I wish!

I Was 131.5 This Morning!

Just 2 lbs more and I'll be in the 120s! Of course, this morning I am not excited about going to the gym. I have a lot of things to do today and I am trying to change my mentality. I HAVE to go to the gym. The old me would always cut out the gym first when the day was busy. I don't feel like running today, so many I'll go and do pilates. I was supposed to go and do both! I won't be able to run tomorrow because I have to deliver a cake and drive to Denver to pick up Taryn. I AM GOING TO THE GYM!

18.5lbs To Go! I Feel Good!

I've been running/walking 5k every other day. I've already dropped a few pounds! I try not to exceed 1000 cals per day, which is what the nutrionist suggests.

I detoxed from white flour and sugar over the last two days...it was tough! I have a cup of tea and the calcium chews in the morning, an apple after I run, a Kashi or South Beach meal for lunch, a protien shake or fat free latte for snack, South Beach meal for dinner, fruit and a cup of tea for evening snack. I've started taking B-12 and really being careful of my vitamin intake. I've been running into too many people that are post-op and having issues because they aren't religious about their vitamins.
I've also been trying to get 60oz of water - but its hard AND I hate peeing all the time! Who has time to pee when they have a rabid 2yr old running around?!! LOL!!!
